The Band is: Silent Steve Iacino on the electric drums and African 'Oh, yeahs' Marvelous Mark B on lead guitar, bass, very entertaining vocals Wicked Wanda Stone on Vocals, Bass, Frogs, Crickets, Saxophone and Motivation Jumpy Jim Barnard on Rhythm Guitar, Bass and Vocals

Below we can see how dangerous outdoor Fall events can be: Mark refuses to touch his guitar strings with his left hand because they are chilly, W's tongue is stuck on the mic...again, Jim has frozen solid and Steve keeps trying to put his hands in his pockets for warmth. (Simsbury, CT October 2010)

Although not our favorite thing to do, the Melon Farmers even play the occasional funeral. In this pic, straight out of what could be the tumbleweed scene from "Dr Zvhawgko" , we are playing "Always look on the bright side of life" not 15 feet from the casket of the dearly departed. The tough part was to remember not to bop and to keep our poker faces on, so we did not seem disrespectful of the family's sensibilities. Click here for more info on Cemeteries with band shells.

Before Wanda joined the band, we had a life-sized cardboard cutout made of her and placed it in front of the band when we practiced. It made the place seem a lot less like a sausage factory and Steve liked to stare at the blank side when he drummed. Note the movable stand that it is attached to. Mark liked to play with the mouth and make it sing negro labor songs. I could not get the bass to sit right as it kept falling to the ground. She made us get rid of it when she joined the band. I think one of us is harboring it, like a fugitive.

This is what Steve sees when he drums: Jim and Mark who, even from behind, are obviously looking at their own fingers while playing and Wanda's butt. Maybe he takes pity on the 6 or 8 wheel chair bound geriatrics that have been abandoned in the front row (read here ONLY row) or maybe he is wishing for a hat. It is possible that he wants to poke the saggy tent roof and drain the pocket of June rain water onto W's cowboy hat.
